There are trains that run all day that head to Cádiz and it is a two hour train ride from Sevilla. There are also trains that come from Barcelona, but it is a much longer trip, clocking in at 7.5 hours. The train from Madrid to Cádiz takes about 4 hours. You can also opt to fly instead and land at Jerez Airport, which is about 30 minutes outside of Cádiz.
So what are some things you should do when you make it to Cádiz?
Tavira Tower
Tavira Tower is the highest point in old town Cádiz and offers an incredible view of the city. For 6 euros per person, you can head to the top and take in 360 degree views that will stun you.
Mercado Central
Mercado central is the large local market that houses endless booths of produce, meats, cheeses, fruits, sweets, and more. There are also vendors that sell hot food, beer, and plenty more.
Cádiz Cathedral
Cádiz’s iconic cathedral can’t be missed, with its gold dome and breathtaking architecture. You can head inside and see the stunning interior for 5 euros per person and you can take a guided tour as well. Climbing up the tower offers more spectacular views of Cádiz.
Parque Genoves
Parque Genoves is a beautiful park that’s perfect for a picnic or just a relaxing stroll. The park also has a botanical garden, waterfall, lake, and cave that can’t be missed. Make sure you are on the lookout for all the different types of birds you can see.
La Caleta Beach
This beach is known to be Cádiz’s most beautiful one and is located between two old castles.
La Victoria Beach
This is one of the most popular beaches in Cádiz, especially with locals since it is close to restaurants, shops, and hotels.
