Cape Cod, Massachusetts
Cape Cod has long been the upscale weekend getaway for Bostonians, so why not try it out for yourself? Located in the southern boundary of the Gulf of Maine, it is separated from mainland Massachusetts by the Cape Cod Canal. Outdoor activities include biking, boating, fishing, golfing, and kayaking. Cape Cod is also known for its unique shopping, bed and breakfasts, and of course, lobstering!
Tybee Island, Georgia
Tybee Island, located 18 miles east of Savannah is the easternmost point of Georgia. It’s actually home to the first ever Days Inn hotel of the now chain. It is a very popular vacation area for tourists that are from outside of the Savannah metropolitan area.
St. George Island, Florida
Located on pretty much the opposite end of its flashy counterpart South Beach, St. George Island provides the perfect peaceful getaway along with the beautiful beach experience that Florida is known for. There are absolutely no high rises here, so the untouched 22-mile barrier island feels very laid back. You can go kayaking, boating, biking, or scoot around the island.
Monterey County, California
Located along the Pacific coast of California, Monterey County makes up Salinas, perhaps best known for its prominence as the backdrop in many of John Steinbeck’s works. The coastline has so many scenic features including State Route 1, Big Sur, and the 17 Mile Drive. Fun sites to visit include Monterey Bay Aquarium, Pebble Beach Golf Links, and Mission Soledad.
The Hamptons, New York
While we’re sure that you’ve heard of the Hamptons, especially in terms of the wealthy elite spending time in their luxurious vacation homes, it is still a lovely place to visit even without having a home there. Comprised of Southampton and East Hampton, there’s plenty to do here like spending time sunning at the beach, shopping at the small shops, and dining on plenty of delicious food.
